God’s Gifts

God has blessed me with a brain,
A brain to me that knows no pain,
Thoughts of this brain must be clean,
I must use this brain to honour God’s name.
God has given me a mind,
An intelligent mind of superior kind,
A mind that’s pure, rich and fine,
To help my neighbor, to lead the blind.
God has given me a will,
And if His will I will fulfill,
He will abide with me still,
And protect me from all ill.
God has given me a soul that’s fit for the sky,
No death can destroy it, even though I die,
His Mansion is prepared for me on high,
I’ll claim it forever, in the sweet bye-and-bye.
And So …
And so you have made it,
You have a college education,
Letters to decorate your name
B.A, B.Sc., M.A, M.Sc., M.Ed., Ph.D.,
But what is the meaning of the Life to thee?
You have a bank account, and a fancy car, too,
And favorite friends to look up to you.
And so, do you think this is life? You do!
The house, car, money, friends and fame,
Does it matter if you do not have a Name?
You have Jesus Christ you claim,
But your love for the world
And your love for God are the same.
And so, who do you blame,
When Jesus disapproves of your life,
Your empty claim,
No longer should you bear your shame,
Make a roundabout turn in Jesus’ name.
To have a B.A. in Jesus
You will not be the same.
